Advances in Technology to Enhance Adherence Monitoring (ATEAM)
This study is looking at tools to support new PrEP users. With the help of a new wearable patch technology, people in this study will have the opportunity to track how often they take PrEP and know how protected they are at any given time. This paid study will enroll a total of 100 people, and will be conducted at the CORE Center in Chicago.

Provided at no cost to participants:

  • 6 months of PrEP
  • PrEP intake tracking system (for part of the study)
  • Quarterly HIV testing
  • Compensation for each visit

What is PrEP?

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a pill that an HIV-negative person can take to lower their chance of being infected. PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV if taken daily, but it is much less effective when not taken consistently.
